100 Acts of Kindness in 7 Days: A Happiness Experiment

Lately I’ve been exploring what it really means to find peace and joy through my purpose.

After launching my coaching business I received a few messages from friends who shared how I’ve touched their lives and specifically mentioned my light:

“You’re just one of those people with such a bright light that shoots out of you.”

“You definitely have that sunlight in you and it radiates.”

These meant so much to me, I added them to my “inspo” note on my phone. Their kind words didn’t just make me smile. They helped me realize something…

I feel peace and joy, even amidst my chaos, when I’m being a light for others. And my most peaceful days are the days I’m coaching clients. But the question has been, how I can be that version of myself more consistently, even through the ups and downs of life?

So I came up with a wild idea…

There are 168 hours in a week. If you subtract time for sleep, that leaves roughly 100 hours.

So I’m challenging myself to do 100 small acts of kindness in one week (about one act per waking hour).

Nothing huge (I mean…extremely busy single mom here), just little moments of love, thoughtfulness, or service.

It’s part healing, part joy, and part reminder that peace and purpose come when we stop waiting for life to feel good, and start making life good.

I’ll report back here on how it goes. Not for applause, but as an experiment.

Can we actually boost our own happiness by spreading good?

Will it shift the way I feel over the course of the week?

Will any insights or revelations come up along the way?

Let’s find out.

Let the kindness begin.
